Job Description

Staff Management Group is seeking an Inventory Control Manager for our client in Carlstadt, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule:

  • 1st Shift: 7AM - 5PM
  • Plus Overtime

Pay Rate:

  • $18 / hour 

Job Summary:

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for leading and managing inventory teams across multiple brands to ensure accurate stock control and movement. This role involves overseeing stock-taking activities, cycle counting, and implementing corrective actions. The manager will also maintain strong collaboration with floor operations and support team engagement to follow established procedures and compliance guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead effective and cohesive inventory teams across multiple brands
  • Plan, manage, and deliver stock-taking activities including PI, stock adjustments, and cycle counting
  • Review all Cycle Count results and implement corrective actions/best practices
  • Research inventory discrepancies and root cause analysis for adjustments, archiving relevant records
  • Ensure adequate control and review protocols for all stock movements
  • Assist management in the development and implementation of system enhancements
  • Partner closely with Floor Operations team (Inbound, Outbound, Returns) to ensure that established SOPs are followed
  • Support team member engagement within all areas of responsibility to enable the application of policies, procedures, and compliance
  • Review all stock adjustments to ensure that they are timely submitted and approved by the applicable stakeholders
  • Develop reporting capabilities to ensure stock movements are timely reviewed, received, and controlled
  • Review and audit stock movements
  • Follow up and review the implementation of adequate procedures and controls for returns and merchandise movements
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Ensure work areas are safe to operate in
  • Daily safety walks, callouts, and observations
  • Coach on poor safety behaviors and encouraging good safety practices
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of work areas
  • Comply with all OSHA and warehouse safety rules and guidelines

People Management Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and engage with teammates, supervisors, internal partners, and managers daily
  • Training, coaching and mentoring associates
  • Maintain daily attendance of associates, including timeclock adherence
  • Ensure associate compliance with all company rules, policies and guidelines
  • Escalating complex issues and interpersonal conflicts to supervisors and managers

Job Requirements:

  • MUST be bilingual (English & Spanish)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of warehousing experience including, but not limited to, retail distribution, logistics, warehouse operations and transportation management
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to respond to time critical issues
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement, provide accurate reporting, and utilize data
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated understanding of warehouse management systems
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Excel

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to push, pull, lift up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop for extended periods of time
