The Chaiken Center for Student Success at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Student Success Coaching and Programming Coordinator (Student Services Assistant) to assist in the management of the Center as a hub for student success in the College of the Liberal Arts. The Center provides students with a supportive place to be guided as they navigate their college journey, empowering them to utilize resources, connect with peers and campus communities, cultivate strengths and interests, and advocate for themselves to achieve academic, personal, and professional success. The Coordinator will support the Director in developing and expanding the Center's main programming of peer success coaching and peer mentoring by assisting in hiring, training, conducting coaching observations and feedback, managing coaching referrals and appointments, and supervising all student staff. Additional duties include coordinating day-to-day administration of programming, promotion, and operations; collaborating on strategic goals; managing special program planning and event logistics; overseeing marketing and outreach efforts; managing space reservations and equipment checkout; co-facilitating workshops and trainings; managing appointment and referral systems; processing financial forms; serving as first point of contact and facility liaison; attending staff meetings; managing communications; and participating in university committees. The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work independently and as a team player, and excellent communication skills. The position is funded for 1 year with possible continuation based on need and funding. It is a 77% full-time equivalency job with months off determined by FTE percentage. The position requires some infrequent evening work for event support. Background checks and clearances are required. Penn State does not sponsor employment visas.
